O Exame Nacional do Ensino Médio (Enem) 2010 recebeu 4,6 milhões de inscrições, número recorde desde a criação do exame, em 1998. O maior número de candidatos inscritos havia sido registrado em 2009, com 4,1 milhões. A informação foi publicada nesta segunda-feira (9) pela Agência Brasil, agência de notícias mantida pelo governo federal. A prova será realizada em 6 e 7 de novembro.

O ano passado foi o primeiro em que universidades federais passaram a usar a nota nos processos seletivos. No total, cerca de 2,6 milhões de estudantes fizeram a prova, que teve 37% de abstenção.

São Paulo é o estado com o maior número de inscritos. São 827.818. Em seguida vêm Minas Gerais (538 mil), Bahia (428 mil), Rio de Janeiro (314 mil), Rio Grande do Sul (295 mil), Paraná (228,4 mil), Pernambuco (228 mil) e o Ceará (208 mil). O Sudeste e o Nordeste concentram quase 70% dos participantes.

Segundo o Ministério da Educação (MEC), cerca de 70 mil inscritos no exame têm menos de 16 anos e mais de um milhão têm entre 16 e 17 anos. Pouco mais de meio milhão têm 18 anos, 394 mil têm 19 anos e 304 mil têm 20 anos. Os candidatos entre 21 e 30 anos somam 1,5 milhão e os maiores de 30 são 691 mil.

Cerca de 2,7 milhões de inscritos neste ano já concluíram o ensino médio em anos anteriores. Outros 1,3 milhão estão cursando o último ano da etapa – desses, 1,1 milhão são de escola pública. Pouco mais de 500 mil só concluirão a etapa depois de 2010 e participam do Enem como treineiros.

O exame terá 180 questões de múltipla escolha e uma redação. No primeiro dia, as provas serão de ciências da natureza e humanas, cada uma com 45 questões. No segundo dia, os candidatos serão avaliados em matemática e linguagens, cada uma com 45 questões, além da redação.
